Recidivist who hid for 20 years after prison break detained in Kabardino-Balkaria
The man moved to the north of Russia, where he lived on a fake passport.
A special operation to detain the 45-year-old man, who had escaped from a correctional camp in 1995, has been conducted in Kabardino-Balkaria. The detention was carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs employees together with the Federal Penitentiary Service and the National Guard’s regional office. This was stated by Official Representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk.
According to her, the man had been previously detained in 1993 and sentenced to 15 years in a strict-security colony for committing grave crimes. However, in 1995, the convict managed to escape. He moved to the north of Russia, where he was able to make a fake passport.
In 2008, the outlaw once again became a defendant in a criminal case, but already under his new name. After serving his sentence, he returned to Kabardino-Balkaria in 2017.
“During this time, the court found him dead at the request of his relatives,” Volk noted.
A criminal case under Art. 327 (Forgery, Manufacture, or Sale of Falsified Documents) of the Russian Criminal Code has been initiated against the detainee.
A petition against the shooting of stray animals in anticipation of the 2018 FIFA World Cup has been signed by more than 1.5 million people. Famous Russian actors made a stand for the animals.
