Primary school teacher rushes to protect kids from attacker with knife

The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia (ICR), Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to institute criminal proceedings and detain a man who had attacked children and a teacher on a playground in the Stavropol region, the press service of the department reports.
According to the ICR, a news report on one of the federal channels showed a man with a knife, who, "acting dangerously and shouting in obscene language," was approaching boys on the playground in the Stavropol region.
“An elementary school teacher was returning from school when she saw that. She blocked the way standing in front of the attacker and told the children to run. The man seized the woman, threatening her with murder, but she was able to fight back and run away,” the message said.
Maria Aksakalova’s son, activist Vladimir Kayvanov, told about what had happened.
Bastrykin instructed the Investigative Committee for the Stavropol region to initiate a criminal case and detain the man. The progress of the investigation will be observed by the central office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
