Policeman who rammed a tram in Ulyanovsk to be dismissed
The Russian MIA Department in the Ulyanovsk region will dismiss the police officer guilty of an accident with public transport on Oktyabrskaya street committed while drunk.
The press-service has presented its evaluation of the recent incident in the city center. As it turned out, when changing lanes, the junior sergeant of the Police Patrol and Checkpoint Service (born in 1991) riding a VAZ-21144 failed to yield right of way and tangentially collided with Toyota Rav 4 moving in the same direction. After the collision, the VAZ crashed into a tram standing at the bus stop.
It is reported that after the accident the passenger of VAZ-21144 was taken to a hospital with injuries of varying severity. According to the medical examination, the policeman was in a state of alcoholic intoxication.
Besides dismissing the officer, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will also punish his superiors. The police officer’s direct management will be held to strict disciplinary liability.
