Activists are trying to save the city square, the fighters of the Russian Copper Company MMA academy attacked them.
Unidentified persons used tear gas against Yekaterinburg protesters who spent the night on the construction site of the church, Ura.ru reports. Activists are protesting against construction and want to preserve the city square. The fighters of the Russian Copper Company MMA academy attacked them.
The gas was wielded locally, not all the protesters, according to a Ural edition correspondent. Earlier, activists piled the fence around the construction site, and also danced in a round near the tents of guards, shouting "We are for the square!" The protesters decided to spend the night around the Drama Theater, but the martial arts fighters supplanted them.
The townspeople outraged that the local authorities did not discuss the construction of the temple with the population, and the company has to deforest the square near the city pond.
The detention is related to the investigation into the abduction and murder of Tatyana Sidorova, a deputy of the Ramenskoye District Legislature, and three members of her family, which occurred back in 2012.
