Photographer Loshagin paid for his “sexual security” in colony
A man convicted for his wife’s murder spoke about extortion and harassment on the part of the staff of the correctional camp No. 54 (IK-54).
An infamous Yekaterinburg photographer, Dmitry Loshagin, convicted for the murder of his wife, model Yulia Prokopyeva, has testified in another case in which he is a witness.
It concerns an investigation against the management of the correctional camp No. 54 in Novaya Lyalya, where Loshagin is serving his time. According to him, he paid the facility management for “not being disturbed” for several years. This is reported by Komsomolskaya Pravda.
The photographer did not name the amount of the remuneration, but admitted it was a “round amount.”
“Pardon the expression, I witnessed a man’s ass being ripped up with a shank, so I paid a round amount to the colony administration for several years for not being disturbed,” Loshagin explained, adding that he did not want to be a “turn out.”
The main defendant in the case of tortures in the colony is former Deputy Head of IK-54, Rafik Zinatullin. The investigation believes that he is involved in mass abuse and sexual violence in the colony.
Loshagin has already spoke to prosecutors about all cases of bullying of prisoners known to him. In addition, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Sverdlovsk region, Tatyana Merzlyakova, has visited the institution.
