Peskov’s ex-wife quits Rossotrudnichestvo after scandal
Ekaterina Solotsinskaya has handed in her resignation notice.
As Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo (the Federal Agency for CIS Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation) office in France, former wife of Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov Ekaterina Solotsinskaya told in social networks, she had voluntarily resigned.
“Dear Eleonora Valentinovna! [Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Eleonora Mitrofanova – editor’s note] I hereby ask you to dismiss me from the post of Director of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Paris at my own request starting on February 28, 2018,” Solotsinskaya’s notice says – she posted a picture of it on Instagram.
Solotsinskaya also noted that Mitrofanova’s “internal sources of information” reported to her “facts and documentary evidence of blatant corruption, nepotism, and misuse of budget funds” in the French office of Rossotrudnichestvo. She also stressed that she had to take a number of steps that would be especially noticeable amid the elections.
As previously reported by the CrimeRussia citing Dozhd TV channel, the conflict between Solotsinskaya and her superiors emerged after the discovery of her two enterprises – in Russian and in France – which Peskov’s ex-wife failed to declare. She herself denied this fact, pointing out that she had links to Kadyrov and Sobchak.
