Person who fired at son of Nazran mayor turns himself to police

The suspect gave the police a non-lethal pistol without a license plate.

A 42-year-old resident of the village of Surkhakhi, Ingushetia, detained by the Criminal Investigation Directorate officers, confessed to the attack on the 22-year-old son of the Nazran mayor committed outside the City Hall building. The suspect turned himself in and gave the police a non-lethal pistol without a license plate, the press service of the republican MIA reports.

On March 28, unknown persons in camouflage fired from a non-lethal pistol at Alikhan Tumgoev, the son of the mayor of Nazran, a security guard of the Hall and a passer-by. The victims did not receive serious injuries. According to the suspect from Surkhakhi, the cause of the attack was a domestic conflict.

The detainee was released on a written recognizance not to leave and proper behavior. 

On April 22, it transpired that the son of the mayor was wounded by Isropil Barkinhoev, and the families had already reconciled at the premises of the central Nazran mosque.
