Olga Glatskikh grants first interview after scandal
The former official said she did not intend to return to the civil service.
The former Head of the Youth Policy Department of the Sverdlovsk region, Olga Glatskikh, who became famous for saying that the state “did not ask anyone to give birth” to children, granted the first interview after being fired.
In a conversation with the TV channel 360 Glatskikh confessed that the public service imposes too many restrictions.
“An official in our country is a priori guilty. This, unfortunately, is a reality which I had to face. I am sure this will change. When we move away from collective condemnation, from unwillingness to understand and reflect, a lot will change in the country,” the former Minister said.
She added that she still considers her experience as head of the department to be useful, just like her career as an Olympic champion, and hopes that in the future they will be in demand.
“I went through a unique school and understand what motivation is, what passionarity is. It seems to me that it is passionate people, aimed at success and relying on themselves only - that is the future of our country,” added Glatskikh.
At the moment, according to her, she is preparing for the opening of the rhythmic gymnastics tournament You Can Do It Yourself, which will begin on February 15 in Nizhny Tagil.
As The CrimeRussia previously wrote, in November, a video recording of Olga Glatskikh’s conversation with schoolchildren in Kirovgrad reverberated. During the conversation, the then Director of the Department said that the state did not ask the Russians to have children, and, therefore, it owes them nothing. Glatskikh’s quote caused quite a stir. First, the official was dismissed, but then returned to the civil service. At the end of the year, Glatskikh wrote a letter of resignation and went on vacation, which ended on February 9.
Mass protest rallies have been taking place in Moscow on a regular basis since the beginning of this summer. People are protesting for lots of different reasons. However, the reaction of the law enforcement authorities is always the same: repression. What is the reason behind the brutality shown during the dispersion of mass rallies? A conscious intimidation policy or incompetence of law enforcement functionaries escalating the violence and unable to imagine the potential consequences of this?
