Number of people affected by riots in Samara colony increased to 17
A mass brawl took place in the colony No. 5 in Samara on February 8.
The number of victims of the brawl in the Samara colony No. 5 has increased to 17. To recall, it was previously reported about 12 convicts who were injured in the scuffle. This is reported by Interfax.
At the moment, 16 prisoners have been taken to the Federal Penitentiary Service hospital. Another convict has been hospitalized in the neurosurgical department of the Pirogov hospital with a head injury.
“His condition is assessed as moderate. He is conscious. He is being examined,” Interfax cites Ombudsman Olga Galtsova.
To recall, a mass brawl took place in the colony No. 5 in Samara on February 8. Convicts initiated a fight and set fire to mattresses. According to Olga Galtsova, the conflict is of domestic nature. One of the convicts working in the colony's canteen insulted the men who came to have dinner. As a result, a group of rowdies ransacked the catering unit. The correctional institution is currently being inspected by the Prosecutor's Office and the Investigative Committee.
