“Non of your business - come out of that!” Video of rebellion in Krasnoarmeyskaya colony appears
On the New Year’s Eve, the inmates manhandled the bodies of active functionaries.
The Investigative Committee of Russia has posted a video taken during a rebellion by inmates of the 7th correctional facility located in the territory of Krasnoarmeysky district in Saratov region.
It can be seen from the video the incident occurred on December 31.
Several inmates are getting about with sticks in their hands. The person who’s shooting the video is asking everyone to calm down, however he’s being said to: “Non of your business - come out of that!” One inmate states he won’t talk to him.
“What did they do to me here?” He exclaims.
In the end of the video, representatives of the colony’s administration ask the inmates over a loud-speaker to retreat . The inmates answer:
- We can talk in here!
- Who’s speaking? Let’s have a talk over here! No problem!
As a result, both parties decided to continue the conversation in the dining room. This is the end of the video.
According to the Investigative Committee of Russia, criminal case into the rebellion in the 7th correctional facility was initiated under item 1 of article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Organisation of illegal entry into the Russian Federation of foreign citizens or stateless persons, their illegal stay in the Russian Federation or illegal transit through the Russian Federation territory).
The investigation theory is that at about 8 pm on December 31, group of inmates with wooden sticks and metal rods as a weapon in his hands manhandled 11 persons, having inflicted them injuries of varying degrees of severity.
Human rights defender Viktor Sinayuk had earlier - in his interview with Svobodnye novosti news agency - told that the so called ‘activists’ had instigated the rebellion in the the 7th correctional facility. The manhandled, in his words, turned out to be those who had - by order of the administration - humiliated the inmates with some of them having been sexually assaulted.
Sinayuk also told the head of the directorate of the Federal Service for Corrections in Saratov region Gennady Kazakov had met the inmates in the colony’s dining room. The negotiations continued for four hours. Special ops unit was also summoned, however the resort to force was not necessary.
Recently, it has also been reported about a rebellion in the 5th correctional facility in Samara. According to the regional directorate of the Federal Service for Corrections, conflict between its inmates occurred during the dinner on February 8. Human-rights ombudswoman Olga Galtsova says one of the inmates who worked at the maintenance started offending the inmates of a group who were on their way from dinner. The latter broke the fence and while catching up with the instigator rushed in the third floor and started beting other inmates with wooden and metal items. Then, they put mattresses in the middle of the room and burnt them.
The blaze was extinguished. 17 persons - primarily those representing the ‘red’ group - were taken to a hospital.
