Nizhny Novgorod region: criminal authority took hostages and opened fire
In Pavlovo a previously convicted man took hostages in an apartment building. According to the social networks, among them there was a policeman.
When the operation for their release began, the shooting started. According to various sources, one or two people received gunshot wounds. During the operation, the suspect shot himself, according to NN.ru.
It is known that before operation residents of the apartment building were evacuated. Later it was reported that the attacker opened fire.
Eyewitnesses reported in the social network that the man threatened to blow up the house.
According to the press-service of the ID ICR in the Nizhny Novgorod region, the incident occurred at around 15 pm. The MIA website said that one of the policemen was shot in the leg. After a delivery of health care, he was hospitalized; his state is satisfactory at the moment.
According to the preliminary data, in the course of operational and investigative activities in the apartment the previously convicted man behaved aggressively and opened fire from firearms wounding a policeman.
Currently, ICR investigators set out the circumstances of the incident. In fact of the police officer injury a criminal case opened under Article 317 of the Criminal Code. Local media citing a source in law enforcement agencies said that the victim was a criminal authority, who was previously twice convicted of crimes with a weapon employment.
