Nizhny Novgorod deputy stripped of driving license for ATV drunk driving
The parliamentarian will not be able to drive for a year and seven months.
Deputy of the City Duma of Nizhny Novgorod Oleg Sorokin has been stripped of his driving license by court order.
According to Volga TV company, the world court found the MP guilty of driving an ATV in a state of intoxication. He was punished by deprivation of the right to drive a car for a year and seven months, and sentenced to an administrative fine of 30 thousand rubles ($532).
To recall, the deputy, who was stopped by the police near his country house on Christmas Day, denies that he was drunk at the time of detention. Mr. Sorokin did not show up for the trial, but his lawyer promised to appeal the decision.
Soslan Dzhanaev, the goalkeeper of Kazan’s Rubin, has spoken in support of the football players Alexander Kokorin and Pavel Mamaev, who had been placed under arrest until December 8 over two fights in Moscow that they had gotten involved in. He called for a fair punishment on his Instagram page.
