Nikita Belykh rounds out 20 kilograms in detention center
The accused of bribe-taking in the amount of 400 thousand euros former Governor of the Kirov region has rounded out 20 kg during his stay in the pre-trial detention center, his lawyer Andrey Grokhotov says at a press conference.
According to him, Belykh puts on some weight due to health problems. Grokhotov notes that his client, in addition to diabetes of the second degree, has endocrine system disorder.
The situation is aggravated by the lack of walks. Furthermore, the prisoner is kept substantially in a supine position. The psychological state of the former Governor also leaves a lot to be desired, the lawyer says.
Grokhotov says that the defense has filed an appeal to the Moscow City Court with a request to place Belykh under house arrest noting that if the measure of restraint for the former Governor does not be changed in the near future, the protection will require an independent medical examination.
Yet another scandal involving Boris Dubrovsky is looming in the Chelyabinsk region. The Governor is determined to resettle Uraim and Severny Klyuch villages against the will of their residents. Kolyma Governor Sergei Nosov suggested Dubrovsky to drive the people into bright future with iron hands. In fact, the future is bright mostly for Nosov and Dubrovsky – not for the resettled villagers.
