New defendant in case of treason against FSB
Another suspect appears in the investigation against Head of the FSB Center for Information Security Sergey Mikhailov - Major Dmitry Dokuchaev.
In a case against one of deputies heads of the FSB Center for Information Security, Sergey Mikhailov, who is accused of treason, a third person involved appears. According to RNS agency, it is the employee of the Federal Security Service, Major Dmitry Dokuchaev, the former Mikhailov’s subordinate.
According to the source agency, a new suspect was arrested in December last year. Information on Major’s arrest was confirmed by a source of RenTV.
Earlier it was reported that against Sergey Mikhailov a criminal case was opened under High Treason (Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of Russia).
The investigation is conducted by the Department of the FSB's own security. According to a preliminary version, Mikhailov received money from one of the foreign companies with help of a member of the Russian company in the field of information security.
Another defendant in the case, according to Kommersant, has become head of the cyber crimes’ investigation department of Kaspersky Lab Ruslan Stoyanov. The company confirms the arrest of Stoyanov, but does not comment on it.
The prosecutors want the former Russian Federation Council member to go to prison for 14 years instead of 9 and pay a 500-million-ruble ($8.8 million) fine instead of 70 million rubles ($1.2 million).
