After the conflict, 18 people were hospitalized with serious injuries.
National Guard called the beating of Muscovites, who were trying to break through the Guard’s cordon to the festival at the Luzhniki Stadium, an appropriate reaction. The security body studied the videos of the conflict and came to the conclusion that the national guardsmen acted within the law, official spokesman of the National Guard Valery Gribakin told the Moskva news agency.
“We will respond to violation of any kind of laws: criminal, administrative – within the framework of the powers granted by the law. As for the tactics of our employees, believe me, the reaction comes appropriate to the situation,” Gribakin said.
On May 1, the Hip-Hop Mayday festival was held at the Luzhniki Stadium, which was attended by more spectators than it could accommodate. Some latecomers attempted to enter the venue, bypassing the cordon placed by the National Guard officers. As a result, 18 people were hospitalized with serious injuries.
