Name of Shaltay-Boltay mailbox hacker disclosed
The investigation against two more members of the hacker group is completed.
The Investigation Department of the FSB completed the main investigative actions against two more participants of the hacker group Shaltay-Boltay (Humpty Dumpty) Konstantin Teplyakov (March Hare) and Alexander Filinov (The Hatter). According to investigators, it was Filinov, who was responsible for breaking the mailboxes.
It is expected that in the next two weeks they will be charged in the final version. As Rosbalt reports referring to its source, the investigation materials regarding these participants will be separated.
The task for illegal access to personal information of various officials and businessmen Filinov received either from leader of Shaltay-Boltay Vladimir Anikeev (Lewis), or from his 'right hand' Teplyakov. It is noted that third-party specialists took part in the work, but Filinov was a regular hacker of the group. Subsequently, the obtained information was sold to the owners or other interested parties.
Let's remind, the investigation upon Anikeev has been already finished. He is finally charged with Unlawful Access to Computer Information (part 3 of Article 272 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). As reported by his lawyer Ruslan Koblev, there are six criminal episodes on the account of his client - the hacking of mailboxes of Elena Morozova from the Summa group, top manager of Sberbank Evgeny Kislyakov, press secretary of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Natalia Timakova, general director of the Russia Today Dmitry Kiselev, employee of the Presidential Administration Timur Prokopenko, as well as Presidential Aide Andrey Belousov. Earlier it became known that TV presenter Kiselev and official Belousov were acknowledged as victims of the Shaltay-Boltay's case; they filed corresponding applications with law enforcement agencies.
In this case, Lewis concluded a deal with the investigation, which allows him to expect a mild punishment.
At the same time, an investigation is continuing on the detained FSB officers, Deputy Head of the Information Security Center (ISC) of the FSB Sergey Mikhailov and his colleague, the senior operative of the 2nd department of the ISC operational department, former hacker Dmitry Dokuchaev, who are accused of High Treason (Article 275). Representatives of the investigation officially stated that the criminal cases of Shaltay-Boltay and the special service employees are not connected in any way, however, according to sources, Mikhailov supervised the activities of hackers and could provide them with the necessary information.
The local Penitentiary Service firmly refused to call what happened in Novosibirsk IK-14 a riot, despite the Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case about it and there is a video proof online.
