The guy axe-murdered five of his close relatives.

Ulyanovsk prosecutor’s office has talked about the possible motives of the teenager who killed his family with an axe.

“The boy studied well; he was an excellent student, a participant and winner of the Olympics at different levels. Perhaps he had some kind of mental breakdown. Before daring to this desperate act, he left a suicide note and sent his friend a voice message, telling him what he was going to do. He wanted to commit suicide, and killed his relatives so that they would not be upset because of his death,” Senior Assistant to the prosecutor of the Ulyanovsk region Vasily Zima said, as cited by Ulpravda.

Ulyanovsk investigators have opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under item “a, b” part 2 of Art. 105 of the Russian Criminal Code (Murder of two or more persons).

The bodies of a 66-year-old man, two women (69, 42), as well as two children of 4 were found in one of the houses of the village of Patrikeevo at around 10:00 Moscow time. Later, the body of the 16-year-old boy was discovered near a cell tower located near the village. One of the versions is that the teenager killed his family and then himself by jumping off a cell tower.

Media reported that he had axe-murdered his mother, grandfather and grandmother, as well as his brother and sister. He told his friend that he did not want to kill his grandfather and grandmother, but he would have to do so so that they would not be upset because of the death of other family members.
