Mother and toddler fall into boiling water pit in Novosibirsk

Currently, the victims are in the hospital.

A mother with a two-year-old fell into a pit with boiling water in Novosibirsk, Russia. According to Vesti.ru, the woman was walking with the child in a stroller when the asphalt suddenly revealed an unfinished heating main below.

Currently, the injured are in the hospital; the child has been diagnosed with burn shock. The toddler has spent 24 hours in intensive care.

The heat well that the boiling water was coming from is located next to an unfinished building, whose owner does not believe he is to blame for the accident because it was not supposed to have any water inside.

“The rules are that water should start coming when the facility is put into operation; so far, we don’t supply heat because there’s no building,” said Denis Tsekar, head of the developing company.

The developers said the same thing to representatives of the Investigative Committee, who launched a probe and questioned potential suspects.
