Moscow woman presses charges against plastic surgeon for deforming her
The woman underwent surgery in 2014 and began to have serious complications five years later.
Yana Galasheva, a patient of the private metropolitan clinic Medlange, accused her plastic surgeon of making her ugly. According to REN TV, the woman underwent surgery in 2014 and began to have serious complications five years later.
“I was diagnosed with valgus deformity of the foot and thumb bones. It looked fine, actually. But Dr. Maksimov said, “We’ll make you very beautiful legs. You will get up and walk the day after the operation.” He didn’t tell me how the legs would be cut, what the consequences would be, didn’t tell me what equipment he was going to use. I would have looked it up and refuse. But soon it was too late. When the dressings were removed, my legs were a mess. But the worst came after a while: the thumbs began to move in the opposite direction,” said Yana Galasheva.
According to her, five years after the operation, her joint began to collapse, so now she has to undergo another surgery, after which a long recovery is required.
On October 15, the woman appealed to the metropolitan police asking to take action against the surgeon. Law enforcement authorities are conducting an inspection.
Earlier, the media reported that three patients of Medlange had died. In early April 2018, it was reported that a 29-year-old beautician Marina died after nose surgery. Then another patient passed away. On May 9, Natalya Orlova, 54, died of renal failure after having a severe back pain following a surgery in the clinic.
Two adults and three children became infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) during treatment in a hospital in the Stavropol city of Budyonnovsk in 2018, Interfax reports with reference to the regional Ministry of Health.
