Moscow Regional Court: Members of GTA gang took their convoys hostage
Representatives of the court told details of the resonant firefight.
Five defendants, members of GTA gang, tried to take convoys, who accompanied them from a hearing in the Moscow Regional Court, hostage. The incident occurred in the elevator when five defendants and two escorts were inside. It is said in the statement of the court published on its website.
The defendants attacked two police officers, taking their service weapon, and took the guards hostage. They entered the courtroom together with the escorts, where they opened a firefight with police officers and the Federal Guard Service. Law enforcement authorities blocked defendants' way.
“Trying to escape the criminals opened a fire for effect,” it is said in the statement of the court.
It is specified that the Federal Guard Service’s employee and two police officers suffered in the firefight. Three members of the gang - Abdumukim Mamadchonov, Mirzomavlon Mirzosharipov, and Holik Subkhanov were liquidated. Two were wounded and neutralized: Fazlitdin Hasanov and Zafardjon.
Earlier the CrimeRussia wrote that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is conducting a check upon the fact of the incident.
The prosecutors want the former Russian Federation Council member to go to prison for 14 years instead of 9 and pay a 500-million-ruble ($8.8 million) fine instead of 70 million rubles ($1.2 million).
