Moscow region: man who tried to put garrote on taxi driver’s neck detained

As a result of the attack, the driver lost control of the car and crashed into a concrete overpass railing.

A passenger has attacked the driver of a Moscow taxi, trying to strangle him with a rope. The incident occurred in the Shcherbinka district. This is reported by Moskva news agency referring to its sources in law enforcement bodies.

The attack was committed on February 7. The police were informed that an unknown man was running on the roadway in the overpass area, asking passers-by to call the police.

The police who responded to the call took the driver’s born in 1976 and the passenger born in 1975 to the department. It turned out that during the trip, the passenger unexpectedly attacked the driver of Kia Rio, putting a garrote on his neck. As a result of the attack, the driver lost control of the car and crashed into a concrete railing. After that he managed to fight back.

At the moment, a criminal case under Attempt at Murder has been initiated into the attack. The press service of the MIA Main Directorate in Moscow confirmed the detention.
