Earlier, a post-graduate student of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics фе the Moscow State University (MSU), Azat Miftakhov, disappeared for the whole day after being interrogated by the police and was officially detained and placed in the pre-trial detention center only on February 2.
Azat Miftakhov, the post-graduate student of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at the Moscow State University, who was arrested on suspicion of producing explosives, spoke about beatings and torture in the investigative department of the municipal department of the Interior Ministry in Balashikha. His lawyer, Svetlana Sidorkina, who met her client in the Balashikha police department, told Novaya Gazeta about this.
According to Sirotkina, Miftakhov was detained in the rented apartment on the morning of February 1. The police found objects from which Miftakhov could produce explosive. He denies making an explosive device.
The policemen became angry, the detainee told a lawyer, and they began to torture him using an included screwdriver. One of the law enforcement officers first put it on the detainee’s chest (Miftakhov showed his trace to the lawyer), after which he put it on the detainee’s anus.
After that, the police beat the detainee, striking him in the chest and face. Then the detainee was given medical assistance, and in the morning of February 2, he was again taken to the police station, where was kept chained to a chair in one of the cabinets.
Miftakhov is one of 11 detained anarchists of the movement who are suspected of making explosives. Earlier, the detainee, Daniel Galkin, spoke about the beating and torture with electric shock after the arrest.
