Numbeo has published a rating of the most dangerous cities on the planet, which includes Moscow and St. Petersburg. The Russian capital ranks 144th, and St. Petersburg is 198th. The anti-rating also includes Novosibirsk, which ranks 137th according to the level of crime.
At the same time, the safest cities in the world are the United Arab Emirates’ capital Abu Dhabi and Marseille.
Experts also indicated a number of cities of the former CIS on the list of the most dangerous ones. Thus, according to Numbeo, Alma-Ata and Kyiv have a high crime rate. These cities rank 112th and 130th, respectively.
The investigating authorities of the Chita region are running a check on Dmitry Nepomnyashchy, a former deputy of the Chita Regional Duma, and his City Duma counterpart, Alexey Guskov, who are suspected of involvement in crimes that had been committed between 1995 and 2005.
