Missing head of village in Russia's Far East found dead
On the body of Andrey Novokreschenov traces of violent death were found.
The head of the Novobureisky settlement of the Amur Region, Andrey Novokreshchenov, was found dead. Damages on his body indicate a violent death. The official Instagram of the administration of the Novobureisky settlement of the Amur region stated the official's death.
The head of the Bureisk district, Andrey Litvinov, confirmed the death of Novokreschenov.
"The administration of the Bureisky district helps relatives in the funeral organization, which will be held on Thursday. As for the circumstances of death, this is the responsibility of the investigation," Litvinov said.
At the moment it is known that Novokreschenov's body was found with wounded head. Earlier, on the Amur federal highway near the village of Doldykan his car was found. Lexus car of the village head was burnt. A blood trail stretched from the car.
Novokreschenov was declared missing on November 2. The Investigative Committee was looking for the head of the village. In addition to rescue services, cynologists actively participated in the search.
The ICR initiated a criminal investigation into the murder.
The prosecutors want the former Russian Federation Council member to go to prison for 14 years instead of 9 and pay a 500-million-ruble ($8.8 million) fine instead of 70 million rubles ($1.2 million).
