Ministry of Transport: Platon system's tariff can be enhanced in one step
Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov said on the sidelines of the XVI Congress of Edinaya Rossiya that the return to the initial level of the tariff of the Platon system may be done in one step.
"There is a resolution's draft on the government site. As a result of the discussion, it will be slightly modified. We discussed issues relating to non-phase and single-rate increases, but so that the financial burden for the year would have remained within or even may be less than originally announced proposals," TASS quotes the Minister.
At the same time, Mr. Sokolov said that the decision is likely to be postponed "for a certain period of time." "Thus, the burden on businesses should be reduced in principle, even in relation to the decisions that were originally sent to the Government," said the Head of the Ministry of Transport.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, instructed the Transport Ministry to prepare an amendment to the Administrative Code, toughening penalties for truck owners for non-payment of travel within the Platon system. It has been reported that it may be introduced a rule that heavyweights’ owners would receive so much fines as the truck on the road would meet the cameras. The appropriate committee of the State Duma refused to support the document.
Presumably, it concerns the US response to Ukraine’s help in the investigation against Joseph Biden, Trump’s main rival in the 2020 presidential election, who allegedly was in collusion with Kiev during the previous campaign.
