Ministry of Justice declares Voice of America and Radio Liberty foreign agents
According to the law adopted in November, these media will be obliged to report to the Ministry of Justice on their activities, as well as to indicate in their products that they are foreign agents.
The Ministry of Justice of Russia has added the Voice of America and Radio Liberty to the list of foreign agents. In addition, the list includes seven Radio Liberty projects: Nastoyashee Vremya television channel, the Tatar-Bashkir service of Radio Liberty, Sibir.Reality, Idel.Realii, Factograf, Kavkaz.Realii and Crimea.Realii.
According to the law adopted in November, these media will be obliged to report to the Ministry of Justice on their activities, as well as to indicate in their products that they are foreign agents. The Office has not yet provided a description of how this marking should look like.
Six months ago, no one could predict the state of the MIA General Administration for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region by the time of the forthcoming elections.
