MIA of Chechnya refutes Kadyrov’s cousin’s involvement in fatal accident in Grozny
Earlier, it was reported that the head of the Shali district of Chechnya, Turpal-Ali Ibragimov, Ramzan Kadyrov’s cousin, was responsible for the accident with two dead. Now the republican MIA officially declares that Ibragimov’s second cousin was driving.
The Chechen MIA officially denied information about the alleged involvement of Turpal-Ali Ibragimov, head of the Shali district administration, in a car accident, as a result of which a woman and a two-year-old child were killed.
According to TASS, the department said that the second cousin of the head of the Shali district administration was driving the Mercedes, “and Turpal-Ali Ibragimov himself did not participate in this accident and had nothing to do with it.”
The MIA also reported that the investigating authorities opened a criminal case on the fact of a fatal car accident according to Part 5 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code (Violation of the traffic rules, resulting by negligence in the death of two or more persons).
The fatal accident occurred at the entrance to Grozny on the night of 4 to 5 December. The car Mercedes at high speed crashed into a VAZ-2107. As a result, two passengers of the VAZ car, a woman and her daughter, died. The driver of the Zhiguli was hospitalized in serious condition.
Soon, witnesses to an accident in social networks reported that the accident was caused by the head of the Shali district, a cousin of the head of Chechnya Turpal-Ali Ibragimov, nicknamed Bystryi. The Kavkazsky Uzel wrote, citing eyewitnesses, that Ibragimov’s guard seized the phones from the witnesses of the accident, after which he went around to nearby houses in search of possible video recordings of the accident.
Users of social networks require Ramzan Kadyrov's reaction to the incident. In 2015, the head of Chechnya equated drivers who deliberately violate traffic rules to terrorists and offered to toughen the punishment for them. He promised to punish everyone, including his relatives, for breaking the rules of the road.
