Man with suicide belt detained in Yugra

Officers of the FSB Directorate for the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District detained a man born in 1995, at whom they found a suicide belt. It is assumed that the detainee was preparing a terrorist attack in Kogalym. The suspect, who came from Moldova, has recently converted to Islam and begun to attend a mosque, URA.ru reports.
The experts determined that the detainee’s belt contained an improvised explosive device “based on hexogen with striking elements (bolts), directional, with a total weight of 2570 grams.” The man was detained on the morning of July 21. No other details are disclosed.
A criminal case was initiated against the alleged terrorist.
