Man who beat anti-corruption activist Dmitry Gribov to death detained
A 57-year-old local resident was detained on suspicion of beating to death an employee of the Center for Countering Corruption, Dmitry Gribov. Olga Vrady, assistant to the Head of the Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Moscow region, told reporters that the detainee had confessed. He said that he had severely beaten Gribov due to domestic conflicts that occurred between them.
The detainee’s car, mobile phones and "clothes with signs of crime" were seized. It is also known that he has previously been convicted of inflicting injury to heath. Currently, law enforcement officers continue to search for the detainee’s accomplice, who participated in the beating of the anti-corruption activist.
Dmitry Gribov was brutally beaten up on the evening of February 11 in the village of Vinogradovo, Moscow region. He was the Head of the Moscow region branch of the public organization Center for Countering Corruption in Government Bodies.
The public man was attacked by several masked men, when he arrived to visit his elderly mother around 9 p.m.
The Center for Countering Corruption in Government Bodies provided informational support in countering the spread of corruption to authorities, legal entities and individuals, drafted claims and complaints, offered to represent the interests of a customer in courts of all instances, as well as in the police, prosecutor’s office, and in any other organizations and institutions.
Not so much time has passed since the death of Igor ‘Adolf’ Minakov, and, as many predicted, the silent transition to possible successors of the funeral empire, which he built on the shoulders of his mobs, failed. The newly-emerging representatives of ritual services not only steal the bread from the mouths of former ‘royal subjects,’ but also control the city elections with their fists.
