Lyubertsy election commission chairwoman dismissed over ballot stuffing
The police have arrived at the polling station.
Mosoblizbirkom has recorded ballot stuffing at polling station No. 1480 in Lyubertsy. The violation got caught on CCTV camera – the video shows the election commission chairwoman and commission member with the right of a decisive vote to cast ballot packs into the ballot box. Both have been dismissed; the police are currently working with them, Mosoblizbirkom Chairwoman Irina Konovalova said.
She stressed that the fake ballots will be canceled.
“The stuffing was performed around 9 AM. The stationary ballot box has been sealed, and those ballots will be declared invalid. Currently, a reserve stationary box has been delivered to the station; it will be used for further voting procedure,” she said.
Konovalova also noted that there are observers from the Public Chamber of the Moscow Region and a member of the Moscow region election commission with the right to a decisive vote at the polling station.
“Voting at the polling station continues. Unfortunately, we should say that the votes of people who have actually come to the station are real, but they will not be taken into account in elections,” the chairwoman added.
