Russian celebrities spoke out in support of those who took to the streets in the heart of Moscow.

Several artists demanded to punish a law enforcement officer who hit a detained woman in the stomach during the unauthorized rally in Moscow.

Footage of the incident appeared earlier on the Web. It shows the masked man detaining and hitting the woman. He then passes her on to his fellow officers who twist her arms when trying to force her on the bus.

Yegor Krid and Sergey Lazarev made posts on Instagram demanding to punish the officers. They were supported by Sati Kazanova and Yana Rudkovskaya in the comments.

Krid wrote that he had "personally submitted a request" and they "promised to find him." In turn, Sergey Lazarev noted, "no matter what she did, a man cannot beat a woman."

“Very sad and very embarrassing! I hope you can go through with that! Good for you for raising this issue!” said Rudkovskaya.

According to various estimates, between 20 and 50 thousand people gathered at the rally last Saturday, more than 200 participants were detained.
