Large-scale production of counterfeit auto parts disclosed in Moscow region
Operatives seized more than 5 thousand units of counterfeit parts that were awaiting their delivery to the regions of Russia, including authorized dealers of leading car manufacturers workshops.
The large-scale production of counterfeit spare parts for cars was prevented by MIA officers and Special Police Force fighters. Underground plant, consisting of six storage facilities, located in the industrial zone of Korolev, the Moscow Region. Here were harvested and packaged fake auto parts, labeling them with illegal trademarks of world famous car manufacturers. Fakes do not conform to the safety requirements of state standards.
According to law enforcement officers, the criminal group, which organized the production, sells counterfeiting in regions of Russia, including service stations of world's leading automakers authorized dealers.
During searches, investigators seized more than 5 thousand units of counterfeit automotive consumables (spare parts, filters, motor oil, belts and so on), financial and business records and seals of fictitious companies.
Investigating authorities have opened a criminal case under Article 180 of the Criminal Code (Illegal Use of a Trademark).
The investigation also establishes additional counts of criminal activity.
The Greek Areopagus upheld the decision of the court in Thessaloniki to extradite Russian Alexander Vinnik, who is considered the owner of the BTC-e crypto-exchange. RBC magazine found other of its possible beneficiaries and found out what Vinnik was doing.
