Kyrgyz police requested Russian Embassy's assistance in accident investigation

Bishkek Central Internal Affairs Directorate has sent an appeal to the Russian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan in connection with the resonant fatal accident caused by First Secretary of the Embassy Viktor Pukhov.

Bishkek Central Internal Affairs Directorate has sent an appeal to the Russian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan in connection with the resonant fatal accident caused by First Secretary of the Embassy Viktor Pukhov.

As reported by the Central Internal Affairs Directorate in Bishkek, in the appeal, Bishkek police management requests the Russian diplomatic mission to provide support in investigation of the accident.

The traffic accident occurred on February 16 at the intersection of Fuchik and Vasilyevsky tract in Bishkek. After crossing the intersection at a red light at a high speed, Toyota Land Cruiser with the ambassadorial license plate Prado crashed into the freight Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, the driver of which died from his injuries on the way to hospital.

Viktor Pukhov and Igor Ryasny

First Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan Viktor Pukhov and Deputy Director of Rosneft in Kyrgyzstan Igor Ryasny, who were in Toyota, suffered minor injuries. It is reported that they have already left the republic. According to the Kyrgyz media, Viktor Pukhov was drunk at the time of the accident.

Following the accident, the Bishkek police initiated a criminal case under 281(Violation of safety rules and rules of vehicles operation). The Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry has handed a note to the Russian Embassy regarding the need to provide comprehensive assistance to Kyrgyz law enforcement agencies in the investigation of the incident.
