Kokorin’s lawyer explains who he calls “a bunch of pricks”
The professional athlete called his fan not to pay heed to the views of the people.
Tatiana Stukalova, a lawyer of the forward for FC Zenit Saint Petersburg Aleksander Kokorin, has commented upon the publication of the message on “a bunch of pricks.”
“The thing with the message is that the phrase was taken out of a context. We don’t know who this letter was addressed to. The only thing we know is that it was written in the very beginning, when they were detained,” RIA Novosti quotes the lawyer as saying.
With that, Stukalova noted that the fact that the footballer’s private conversation got into the media is going to be investigated.
The day before, Nevskie novosti posted Kokorin’s message to his fan. The professional athlete called his fan not to pay heed to the views of the people.
The football players Aleksander Kokorin and Pavel Mamaev have been in the remand prison of Butyrka for more than 3 months now. They were taken into custody in October following two fights in the center of Moscow. The footballers manhandled Minpromtorg official Denis Pak, Director of NAMI research institute Sergey Gaysin, as well as a driver of Russia’s Channel one TV host Olga Ushakova - Vitaly Solovchuk.
Mass protest rallies have been taking place in Moscow on a regular basis since the beginning of this summer. People are protesting for lots of different reasons. However, the reaction of the law enforcement authorities is always the same: repression. What is the reason behind the brutality shown during the dispersion of mass rallies? A conscious intimidation policy or incompetence of law enforcement functionaries escalating the violence and unable to imagine the potential consequences of this?
