A resident of Kemerovo killed an elderly teacher, who taught at qualification courses. Money and jewelry were taken from the victim’s apartment. According to preliminary ifromation, the defendant was fond of gambling, the press service of the regional ICR’s Directorate reported.
On May 14, the 82-year-old teacher did not show up at work, although her colleagues knew her as a punctual person. The teachers decided to visit their colleague – the door of her apartment was open, and in one of the rooms a corpse with a fractured head was laying.
According to investigators, a 31-year-old local resident, who was previously convicted, was trained by the pensioner and once stole a large amount of money. The teacher filed a complaint with the police and refused to withdraw it when the student asked for it. During the quarrel, the student decided to kill her with a dumbbell, after which she stole jewelry, bank cards, savings books and seven thousand rubles ($ 110) in cash.
The investigation confiscated the stolen jewelry from one of the pawnshops, and detained the student and charged her with murder for mercenary motives combined with robbery (section 3 of para. 2 of Article 105 CCRF). The court authorized the arrest of the accused. Psychological and psychiatric examinations were commissioned in respect of the defendant.
The intel scandal involving Oleg Smolenkov, who had access to the Kremlin and possessed valuable information, has become a widely discussed topic. It was CNN who reported, citing sources in the CIA and Donald Trump administration, on the “informant” being evacuated from Russia in 2017. It turned out that for certain people in Russia, the spy’s disappearance was not a secret, while the Russian elite denied the fact of espionage in unison with the American one. The Smolenkov family was forced to leave their luxurious mansion in Virginia, and their current whereabouts are unknown. Smolenkov’s “patron,” Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation for the International Sector Yury Ushakov, continues to fulfill his duties. The CrimeRussia looked into the story of “exfiltration” of the top informant and the possible consequences of his work as an intelligencer.
