Kadyrov: "Murder of Chechen Parliament Deputy Mukhmad Askhabov is half-solved"
Head of Chechnya emphasized that yesterday’s murder of deputy from the Communist Party Mukhmad Askhabov was not political; he also noted that neither it involved terrorists.
Head of the Chechen republic Ramzan Kadyrov has assessed the murder of MP of the Chechen parliament from the Communist Party Mukhmad Askhabov via Instagram.
In particular, Kadyrov said that, based on information "obtained from numerous independent sources, as well as the reports of law enforcement agencies," Askhabov's murder was not political. Noting that the murder was already 'half-solved', he emphasised that it neither involved terrorists.
"In the Chechen republic, the murder of Magomed Askhabov has been received with great surprise. Chechnya hasn't seen such occurrences quite a while," the head of Chechnya wrote, calling Mukhmad Askhabov (the deputy’s name according to the website of the Chechen parliament) Magomed.
Expressing his condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, the republic head confidently stated that the criminals would be identified in a short time, arrested and punished in accordance with the applicable laws.
To recall, the republic parliament deputy's Toyota Camry was shot by unknown people in the Achkhoy-Martanovsky district of Chechnya in the morning of August 25.
As reported by the republic ICR Investigations Directorate, the attack resulted in a traffic accident, as a result of which the deputy died.
The investigative bodies have initiated a criminal case under 'Murder in connection with the performance of official activity or the performance of public duty by a person' and 'Illicit arms trafficking'.
The cadets have been found guilty of an Attempt at Murder by a Group of Persons by Previous Concert and for Mercenary Reasons (part 3 of Art. 30, part 2 of Art. 105 of the Russian Criminal Code). They do not plead guilty.
