According to the Head of the Republic, the defendants were convicted in order to "terminate the case".

So, Kadyrov said that "according to his information," the convicts are innocent. "I think that this is wrong. Someone needed it, Nemtsov was killed - so they blamed on Kadyrov," he said, emphasizing that he had always considered Nemtsov as "a favorable character."

Kadyrov added that the everything would be highlighted key points and the names of the true murderers would eventually become known.

Recall that politician Boris Nemtsov was shot dead on the Bolshoy Moskvoretsky bridge near the Kremlin on February 27, 2015. For his murder, Zaur Dadaev was sentenced to 20 years in a strict regime colony, and several other defendants were sentenced to 11 to 19 years in prison.
