Irkutsk region: employee of Federal Service for Execution of Punishment and court bailiff steal 213 kg of greenstone
The damage is estimated at 1 million rubles ($15 thousand).
The Investigative Committee of Russia brought an accusation against a former employee of the Federal Service for Execution of Punishment in the Irkutsk region. He is accused of theft of 213 kg of greenstone from the Bailiff Department in a town of Usolye-Sibirskoye, reports the media office.
The investigation theory is that the ex-employee of the Federal Service for Execution of Punishment ran the fraud during the New Year’s holidays in 2019. The damage is estimated at around 1 million rubles ($15 thousand). The greenstone was seized from a debtor by court bailiffs in December, 2018.
The investigation theory is that the man’s partner in crime was his relative, a forme driver of the bailiff service, but the accusation has not been brought against him, yet.
The Investigative Committee of Russia specified that the second defendant in the case had made a voluntary surrender and confession following the detention of the first one. However, it is not specified who was detained first.
“During the interrogation, the investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia were told that the greenstone had been hidden in a well located near a private house. They were looking for a would-be purchaser of the stolen mineral for a few months,” the statement says.
