Investigative Committee to check reports on tortures at anti-extremism dept
According to the victim, the law enforcement wanted to persuade him to cooperate with the investigation with tortures.
The Investigative Committee of Karachaevo-Cherkessia initiated a check after a report from a 38-year-old local resident who told about tortures at the "E" Center (Anti-extremism department of Internal Affairs). This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Investigative Committee.
According to the victim, the law enforcement wanted to persuade him to cooperate with the investigation and give testimony.
The victim underwent forensic examination, which stated his superficial wound of the right hand. The medical conclusion specifies he could get it because of the use of current. In addition, the man had bruises on his back, head and left eye.
It concerns entrepreneur Dmitry Motorin, Boris Usherovich, a co-owner of the Group of Companies 1520, and Novoe Vremya board member, Ivan Stankevich. Motorin is accused of giving a bribe on an especially large scale, and Stankevich and Usherovich are charged with bribe-taking.
