The case of the car accident has been withdrawn from the Department of Internal Affairs and referred to investigators of the department for investigation of priority cases.
The ICR Investigative Directorate in the Khabarovsk region has drawn attention to the car accident, in which the father of Anar Allahveranov (accused of murder of powerlifter and world champion Andrei Drachev) died. This is reported by the directorate’s press service.
The accident took place in the morning of January 16 in the Zheleznodorozhny district of Khabarovsk. 59-year-old man was hit to death by a Toyota Corolla. It is noted that the car driver was sober. He has already been detained. A criminal case under part 3 of Art. 264 of the Russian Criminal Code (Violation of Traffic Rules and Rules for Operation of Transport Vehicles) has been initiated.
Allahveranov’s lawyer Konstantin Lysenko previously reported that the father of his client had been receiving threats related to the murder of Andrei Drachev. The ICR paid attention to the media reports about those threats. The case was withdrawn from the Department of Internal Affairs and referred to investigators of the department for investigation of especially important cases of the ICR Investigative Directorate in the Khabarovsk region. Investigators are currently establishing the circumstances of the incident. It is reported that various versions of the accident will be checked, including possible revenge. The Investigative Directorate follows up on the investigation.

Anar Allahveranov
Powerlifter Andrei Drachev was killed in a fight with an Amursk native Anar Allakhveranov in mid-August 2017 near a local cafe. According to the investigation, Allahveranov is a fighter of hand-to-hand combat; he inflicted a lot of blows to Drachev, which resulted in his death. The Central District Court of Khabarovsk arrested Allahveranov for two months. The investigation into the case continues.
As the CrimeRussia previously found out, Anar Allahveranov and his older brother had been detained in March 2013 during an operation to eliminate an ethnic criminal group engaged in extortion, robbery, and other serious crimes. The group, which comprised of more than 10 members, was established by Allahveranov’s older brother Natig on the basis of the fight club Master. After Natig’s arrest, Anar was in charge of Master’s acitivities, organizing training and events, as well as carry out coaching functions.
The family of Andrei Drachev suspects Anar Allahveranov of deliberate killing of the athlete. According to his relatives and their lawyer Evgeny Shvetsov, a video of the fight proves it – Drachev tries to avoid the conflict, while Allahveranov hits him purposefully and accurately. Drachev’s family will seek the maximum punishment for the murderer provided for by Art. 105 of the Russian Criminal Code (Murder), i.e. life imprisonment.
