ICR confirms initiation of criminal proceedings against Kirov deputy because of joke with grenade
The young lawyer decided to see the reaction of the police and threw a grenade at his feet.
Investigators from Kirov launched a probe into the “social experiment” of lawyer Nikolay Dubravin, 21, who is a deputy of the Sloboda City Duma. Dubravin threw a fake grenade at a policeman’s feet. The act was qualified as hooliganism (para. “a” of part 1 of Article 213 CCRF).
On June 24, before the next “social experiment,” Dubravin warned his subscribers that he might be gone for a day or two, and also asked to write to him about the whereabouts of any police officers.
At about 4 pm the police received a message that a suspicious object was found near one of the houses on Gerzen Street in Kirov. The police patrol who arrived at the scene of the incident did not find anything, but Dubravin who was passing threw an item resembling a grenade at his feet, after which he was detained. He stated that the fake grenade fell out of his pocket.
Previously, Dubravin recorded several videos calling them social experiments, the point of which was to test people for humanity. The audience reacted differently to the initiative. Some demanded to punish the deputy.
