ICR: Belgorod police beat and forcibly plied detainee with alcohol
In the Belgorod region, two police officers got prosecuted for abuse of power – they have beaten and forcibly plied a detainee with alcohol.
A criminal case under item a part 3 of Art. 286 of the Russian Criminal Code (Exceeding Official Powers) has been initiated against them.
According to investigative bodies, the incident took place on November 23 last year in the Prokhorovksy district, Belgorod region. The police had invited one of the locals to the police department to hold a conversation and find out his involvement in the commission of certain crimes. As a result, the police beat him, and then, putting handcuffs on him, forcibly poured alcohol into his mouth. Thus they intended to bring the man to administrative responsibility.
According to experts, they inflicted about 50 blows to various parts of the victim's body, causing various injuries.
The two policemen have been detained; criminal cases have been initiated against them.
The reporter’s children Ilya Politkovsky and Vera Politkovskaya, her mother Raisa Mazepa and sister Elena Kudimova had filed a complaint with the ECHR against an ineffective investigation of their mother’s murder.
The girl is known in her homeland and the United States as a "defender of interests of law-abiding owners of civilian weapons," founder and member of the board of public organization called Right to Bear Arms.
On July 15, at the second half of France v Croatia, about the 52nd minute, three girls and a young man in police uniforms invaded the pitch of Luzhniki stadium. They rushed to the pool of players, interrupting the attack of the Croatian national team, and tried to hug football players.
