“I dislike Russians, never say a word to them”, says Chechen United Russia Deputy
Magomed Khanbiyev said that he never talks to Russians.
Magomed Khanbiev, a Deputy of the Parliament of Chechnya from United Russia and the former Minister of Defense of Ichkeria, openly stated that he does not like Russians and never speaks to them; he said so in a live Instagram stream. The opposition leader Alexey Navalny pointed that out and published the statement of the United Russia deputy on Twitter.
"I am the padishah of my people, a Chechen. I don’t speak with Russians. Never say a word to Russians. I did not surrender to any Russian [during the war in Chechnya]”, says Khanbiev. “I have not had a conversation with any Russian general or officer. I dislike them still. I am a son of Ichkeria!".
Khanbiev, according to open sources, is a member of the faction of the ruling party in the Chechen Parliament and is a member of the Committee on law, order and security. He was awarded the order of Kadyrov and the order “for the Development of Parliamentarism in the Chechen Republic”.
The self-proclaimed Republic of Ichkeria was formed after the collapse of the USSR on the territory of the former Chechen-Ingush ASSR within the RSFSR. Ichkeria ceased to exist in 2007, when the President of the Republic, Doku Umarov, announced the creation of the "Caucasus Emirate", Imarat Kavkaz. Later, Imarat Kavkaz was recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in Russia.
