Husband of cashier Luisa Khairullina placed under house arrest
Spouse was detained after his speech on national television.
The court placed the spouse of former cashier Luisa Khairullina Marat, who was charged with theft, under house arrest within the case over 20 million rubles theft from Rosselkhozbank. On the same day, the Supreme Court of Bashkiria considered the appeal of the principal defendant and left her in custody.
Marat Khairullin was detained upon returning to Bashkiria from Moscow, where the arrested spouse spoke at a federal television channel and announced a fundraiser for the return of stolen money to the bank. The stolen millions were lost in gambling.
Also, the spouse told his version of the robbery: his wife, being the cashier, took the money in parts for one and a half years, leaving fake bills. The former director of the regional branch of Rosselkhozbank, Irek Mukhametdinov, noted that such a plan is real only if it is implemented in a short time because of sudden cash audits.
