Head of plant producing special equipment for Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested
Andrey Nechayev is accused of abuse of official powers.
The Basmanny Court of Moscow placed acting head of the scientific and production association (NGO) Spetsialnaya tekhnika i svyaz (Special equipment and communication) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Andrey Nechayev into custody on Wednesday, October 18, Interfax reports with reference to the press secretary of court Yunona Tsareva.
According to her, the term of arrest is determined till December 17. Nechayev is accused of Abuse of Official Powers which has entailed heavy consequences (part 3 of Art. 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
According to RBC, today searches were carried out in the office of NGO Spetsialnaya tekhnika i svyaz on Prud-Klyuchiki Street in Moscow. According to information on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, this institution is engaged in ensuring implementation of decrees of the president and resolutions of the Government of the Russian Federation on the creation of special technical means and also takes part in the implementation of large federal programs.
Saburova believes that the Russian authorities violated articles 2 and 5 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, guaranteeing the right to life, as well as the right to freedom and personal inviolability.
