The entrepreneur Jamil Khaled, who heads the distributor company of the world famous brands Versace, DKNY, Escada, Timberland and New Balance, is to be extradited to France.

Law enforcers have detained the Head of JSC "MFK JamilCo", Jamil Khaled, at his place on Kutuzovsky Avenue in Moscow at Interpol’s request, Business FM radio reports.

Interpol representatives refused to comment on the detention of Jamil Khaled.

"Interpol never performs the arrests, police of the member countries of the organization perform the arrests in accordance with the legislation of a country," RIA Novosti quotes the words of representatives of the headquarters in Lyon. They also advised turning to Russian authorities for the relevant comments.

The Head of Legal Department of JSC “MFK JamilCo” refuted the reports, saying that “K.Jamil is not arrested in absentia by the French (or any other country) law enforcement agencies” and that the businessman was not detained in Russia or any other company. In addition, layers of the company assured that Jamil Khaled “is currently in the central office” in Moscow, and “continues to perform his duties as Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "MFK JamilCo".
