“He was running around with knife and demanded drugs”: Russia initiates criminal case against student from Great Britain
19-year-old Englishman had come to Russia on a study visa.
Nizhny Novgorod’s police have opened a criminal case into hooliganism against Richard Williams, a 19-year-old student from Great Britain who had come to Russia on a study visa to undertake and complete a course of study at the local branch of the Higher School of Economics.
The British ran outside at about 11 pm on April 14 with a knife in his hand and started threatening a local. Eyewitnesses say he demanded drugs; after he left the local man alone, he started running around. The violator was detained and taken to a police division.
Police told REN TV no one had been hurt from the troublemaker’s actions.
Gadzhiev was detained on June 14. A criminal case was initiated against him about participation in a terrorist organization (part 2 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code) and promotion of terrorism (part 4 of article 205.1 of the Criminal Code).
