“He doused himself with gasoline and burst into flames”: two National Guard heads commit suicide
The National Guard has initiated a check into the suicides.
Two high-ranking National Guard officers killed themselves in the Volgograd and Ivanovo regions.
“The head of the military authorities in the Volgograd region doused himself with gasoline and set himself on fire right during the check by a higher unit,” Telegram channel Ombudsman Politsii reports.
According to the same source, chief of staff, Major of the National Guard Dmitry Patranichev hanged himself in the Ivanovo region on Friday. “He hanged himself on a nearby tree after checking the service post. According to his colleagues, he had been depressed for several days due to having applied for pension three times. Every time, he was dissuaded and forcibly appointed to other positions,” the message says.
National Guard Spokesperson Valery Gribakin told TASS that the authorities initiated an investigation into the suicides in the Vologda and Ivanovo regions.
