GUEBiPK internal check relevant to Zakharchenko's case caused new dismissals
Dmitry Zakharchenko and his immediate supervisor Alexander Tishchenko were discharged from the post.
Dmitry Zakharchenko was discharged from the bodies of internal affairs in connection with the "commission of the offense, defaming the honor of law enforcement officers" (subpara. 9, para. 3 of Article 82 of the Federal Law N 342 "On service in bodies of internal affairs of the Russian Federation and the Introduction of Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation").
Also, as reported by the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk, the immediate superior of Zakharchenko, the Head of Department T Alexander Tishchenko was dismissed. It happened after a carried-out check against the leadership of the Anti-Corruption Central Administrative Board MIA, which was appointed by the Head of the MIA Vladimir Kolokoltsev. The reason was the high-profile case against the Acting Head of the Department T of the General Administration for Economic Security and Combatting the Corruption (GUEBiPK) Dmitry Zakharchenko, in an apartment of whose sister there were found 8.5 billion rubles.
The check was carried out by a special committee of the central apparatus of the Interior Ministry, formed from its own security and emergency services staff.
The disciplinary penalties "for failure to take appropriate measures to strengthen service discipline and legality in the assigned division" was imposed on the Head of theb GUEBiPK, the Major General Andrey Kurnosenko (according to some reports, on September 13, 2016, he resigned in connection with the Zakharchenko’s case), on the Chief of the Department of secrecy, personnel and civil service of the GUEBiPK Vladimir Abmetko and the Chief of the transport Department at the Interior Ministry in the CAO Oleg Kalinkin.
In addition, in a result of check it became known that the Head of the Department F of the Anti-Corruption Central Administrative Board of the Ministry of Interior Affairs (controls crime in the financial sector) Dmitry Katkov concealed information about the foreign real estate. According to Irina Volk, a decision on the Katkov will be find in accordance with the current legislation.
Recall that the former Acting Head of the Department T GUEBiPK Dmitry Zakharchenko was arrested on September 9, 2016. The Colonel is accused of Abuse of Official Powers (Art. 285 of the Criminal Code), Bribe-Taking (Art. 290) and Obstruction of Justice and Preliminary Investigation (Art. 294).
