Guards of Summa group arrested for murder attempt of combat sambo bronze prize winner of Russia
In June 2017, eight fighters of mixed martial arts severely beat the participant of the Russian Combat Sambo Championship Shamil Kuramagomedov. If it were not for the passers-by, he would be dead. The investigative authorities initiated a case of attempted murder.
The Tverskoy court of Moscow arrested several security guards of the OOO Summa Group, whose co-owners Ziyavudin and Magomed Magomedov are currently in jail on charges of creating an OCG and embezzling 2.5 billion rubles ($37.6 mln), for a period of two months.
As reported by MK, the athletes, who performed the functions of security guards in the Magomedov brothers' company, are suspected of attempting to kill the bronze medalist of the Russian Sambo Championship in 2017 Shamil Kuramagomedov.
In total, eight athletes in mixed martial arts are suspects in the case. The newspaper does not report how many of them are employees of Summa Group.
According to the investigation, the suspects beat the Dagestan sambo wrestler almost to death, inflicting multiple punches and kicks on him on Artamonov Street in Moscow at about 1 a.m. on June 12, 2017. They beat him very cruelly – Kuramagomedov was rescued from the imminent death by passers-by, who by their appearance frightened off the attackers, the newspaper writes.
As a result of the attack, Kuramagomedov got a concussion of the brain, a closed craniocerebral injury, and a fractured nose. However, the sambo wrestler did not turn to the police then and went to his native land of Dagestan to heal injuries.
When, after a few months, Shamil Kuramagomedov again fell victim to the attack, he realized that his life was in grave danger and appealed to law enforcement.
In November 2017, the investigation opened a case under the article Attempted murder, but the suspects were installed almost a year later in September 2018. All the detained athletes in mixed martial arts were somehow acquainted with the victim since they trained with him in the same gym that belongs to Summa Group.
The publication notes that one of the defendants in the case was a sports judge, coach Felix Urudzhev, 35, who was a member of the group of rapid response of the Summa group. The names of the rest are not reported.
All suspects do not recognize themselves as guilty, and Urudzhev, according to his lawyer Gadzhimurad Magomedgadzhiev, has an iron alibi. However, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for all the defendants.
Recall that co-owners of OOO Summa Group Ziyavudin Magomedov and his brother Magomed were arrested in Moscow on March 31, 2018. The investigation believes that the brothers created a criminal community with the help of which they committed particularly serious misappropriation and embezzlement (part 1, Article 210 of the Criminal Code, part 4, Article 159 of the Criminal Code, part 4, Article 160 of the Criminal Code).
